The roots of Keefer & Associates can be traced back into the late 1800's.  George F. Keefer was a prominent surveyor in the Sunbury area at that time.  His name can be found as the author on many maps related to the development of The City of Sunbury, the Borough of Northumberland, and other surrounding areas.

 

His son, George W. Keefer, followed in his father's footsteps.  He was a Professional Engineer and Registered Surveyor, and practiced in the area since the 1940's and for several decades thereafter.

 

Under the guidance and supervision of Keefer and also D. Joseph Sacco, Professional Engineer and Registered Surveyor, Randall L. Hummer and Robert B. Kline began providing land surveying services throughout central Pennsylvania in the late 1970's.  Keefer and Associates was then established as a partnership in 1979.

 

Robert B. Kline became licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in 1981, as did  Randall L. Hummer in 1989.  In 1991, Keefer and Associates, Inc. was created.  Throughout the years, there has been a consistent and professional staff at Keefer and Associates.  More than one hundred years' worth of records and maps are still in possession of the business.

 

Throughout the decades, Keefer and Associates has adapted to the latest technology of the surveying profession.  From a compass and steel tape, to a transit and laser EDMs (Electronic Distance Measuring), and now electronic total stations, data collection, and GPS technology, we have always provided quality services to our clients.
